ConnectSafely.org Home to Most Comprehensive Directory of Online Safety Resources in North America

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- This important, frequently updated collection of Internet safety resources, previously a service of the California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP), was in jeopardy when the program lost its funding from the California Department of Education. Upon learning of the impending loss of this valuable resource, ConnectSafely co-directors Anne Collier and Larry Magid offered to host it at ConnectSafely.org, inviting Anne Bubnic to maintain the service as a contributing editor to ConnectSafely.

"A Comprehensive Directory of Online Safety Resources" can now be accessed at www.connectsafely.org/directory.

The collection includes some three dozen educational games for the classroom. Among the resources' developers are educational institutions, advocacy organizations, law enforcement agencies, and governments from local to national levels. In response to numerous classroom requests for bilingual information, Spanish resources are also described.
