CONSOL Energy Donates More than $49,000 in its Continued Effort to Fight Hunger in Greene County

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE: CNX) today announced a $16,000 donation from its employees to the Corner Cupboard Food Bank, which provides food assistance and hunger relief to more than 3,000 Greene County, PA residents each month. The employee donation brings CONSOL Energy's gift to the Corner Cupboard to more than $49,175 this holiday season.

CONSOL Energy employees were able to contribute to the company's fight against hunger by donating $10 for a CONSOL Energy and Pittsburgh Penguins t-shirt. More than 1,600 t-shirts have been sold already.

To kick off the company-wide effort before Thanksgiving, CONSOL Energy sponsored the 4th Annual Corner Cupboard Holiday Food Drive at the Greene County Courthouse in Waynesburg, PA on Nov. 15, 2011, CONSOL Energy employees and food bank volunteers collected nonperishable food and monetary donations from event attendees and area businesses. Limited edition CONSOL-Penguins t-shirts also were available for a donation, with many local residents excited to wear their support.
