PITTSBURGH, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE :CNX ) announced today that its 2011 coal exports, which had been estimated at 10.0 million tons, could now be in a range of 10.0 – 10.5 million tons. Company executives, having just returned from customer meetings in Asia, see CONSOL's overall export markets remaining strong throughout the remainder of the year. CONSOL continues to ship its coal to four different continents.
As for quarterly coal production, CONSOL Energy confirms earlier guidance of 14.4 – 14.8 million tons.
Total coal shipments in the quarter have been strong, causing inventory to be drawn down to a level lower than what was expected.
