Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. launches new brand and latest technology at the Twin Cities Race for the Cure®

MINNEAPOLIS, May 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Race for the Cure will be showcasing a new brand and breast cancer screening technology from Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. (CRL) this weekend!

Women who undergo routine mammograms at CRL Imaging Southdale now have the latest technology available to them: Digital Breast Tomosynthesis, also known as three-dimensional (3D) mammography. This technology has been shown to improve cancer detection and reduce false positives.

Dr. Trudi Parker, board-certified breast imaging radiologist, and Medical Director at CRL Imaging Southdale, stated, "This revolutionary technology reveals greater detail, which can help us detect cancer more accurately. Tomosynthesis gives us the ability to see masses that we might have difficulty detecting with traditional mammography. Because it reduces the overlap of tissue, 3D mammography may lead to fewer callbacks and therefore less anxiety for women."

Scheduled to launch in conjunction with the new technology, CRL Imaging Southdale has rebranded its breast related services to, "CRL Women's Imaging."
