VANCOUVER, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Copper Creek Gold Corp. (the "Company" or "Copper Creek", TSX.V: CPV) announces that the diamond drilling program is currently in progress at the Bonsai property in north central British Columbia. Six holes of the currently planned 13 hole, 4000m drilling program have been completed. BZ10-007 and BZ10-008 are currently being drilled. The Bonsai property is located 6 km southwest of the past producing Eskay Creek Mine, operated by Barrick Gold Corporation.
Drill cores from holes BZ10-001 and BZ10-002 have been forwarded to ALS Chemex Labs in North Vancouver and are undergoing assay analysis for both gold and multi-elements. The Company intends to release assay results, as they become available, in batches of 3 holes per news release.
Two diamond drill rigs are presently drilling on the property. One drill rig is operated by DMAC Drilling Ltd. of Aldergrove, BC, the second is operated by Black Hawk Drilling Ltd. of Smithers, BC. The Company is pleased to report the program is ahead of schedule and on budget. The program is mostly targeting chargeability anomalies generated by this summer's ground EM and IP surveys. To date, drilling has encountered zones abundant in disseminated, and at times, semi-massive sulphides which have been observed in all holes drilled to date. The sulphides observed consist primarily of fine grained pyrite and pyrrhotite in the form of disseminations, stringers, small blebs and in rare cases hosted within clasts in breccia zones. Additional sulphides observed include sphalerite, magnetite as well as chalcopyrite.
