DALLAS, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ: COYN), which operates the COPsync Network™, the nation's only system connecting law enforcement officers and agencies nationwide with real-time communication, even those thousands of miles apart, and the COPsync911™ threat-alert service for schools, government buildings, hospitals and other potentially at-risk facilities announced today that COPsync Responder law enforcement agency customers will be provided a no-charge upgrade that connects them to the COPsync information sharing and communication network.
This upgrade provides COPsync law enforcement customers access to the nationwide officer safety features and non-adjudicated information database of the COPsync Network. As law enforcement officer safety continues to be a growing topic of national discussion, capturing the daily attention of police chiefs and sheriffs in agencies large and small, these first responders in the 9 states other than Texas where the Company has COPsync911customers are now connected to the only national network that connects officers from different agencies with access to law enforcement non-adjudicated information and real-time communication capabilities including Officer Safety Alerts, Auto Vehicle Locator, and Be On the Look Out Alerts.
These customers will now be able to access and add information to COPsync History, the COPsync national law enforcement non-adjudicated information database, communicate with all agencies on the COPsync Network, and send distance-based alerts with the "Officer Needs Assistance" feature which will notify the closest officers of an officer in danger.
Mr. Ronald A. Woessner, Chief Executive Officer of COPsync, stated, "The COPsync Network provides 21st-century technologies that arm law enforcement officers with information that helps keep officers safer and helps them interdict crime and criminals more effectively. Now with access to the COPsync database of non-adjudicated law enforcement information and the officer safety features, we expect these officers located in the states of California, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Virginia, and New York, and will become strong advocates for encouraging other agencies in their state to join the COPsync Network, similar to the manner in which the Company's more than 500 Texas law enforcement agency customers are strong advocates for the COPsync Network in Texas. We believe that this advocacy will help accelerate the pace of adoption."
About COPsync, Inc.
COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ: COYN) is a technology company that improves law enforcement communication in a manner that saves officers' lives and helps them prevent and respond more quickly to crime.
