The campaign is focused on helping to bridge the gap dividing law enforcement and citizens.
The New Jersey Trust 2 Protect campaign launch was hosted by Paterson, New Jersey Mayor Jose Torres. In Paterson, Torres has worked hand-in-hand with local law enforcement to diminish crime and has emphasized the need for police safety initiatives like Trust 2 Protect that bring together community and law enforcement influencers to focus on finding solutions that increase safety for both officers and citizens. Trust 2 Protect is committed to national change through developing collaborative solutions that bridge the communication gap dividing law enforcement and citizens, and enhancing the National Blue Alert notification system for officer safety.
The launch opened with remarks from Trust 2 Protect Founder and The Brewer Group CEO Jack Brewer, followed by comments from Trust 2 Protect Campaign Partners Ron Woessner COPsync CEO and Tom Berry Founder/Director of The Blue Alert Foundation. Trust 2 Protect Endorsers and former NFL players Clinton Portis and Tommie Harris also spoke. Other attendees included COPsync Board Member Luisa Ingargiola, Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale, Paterson Fire Department Chief Michael Postorino, GTX Corp CEO Patrick Bertagna, representatives from various law enforcement agencies including the Passaic County Sherriff's Office and the William Paterson University Police Department, and representatives from Paterson Public Schools and St. Joseph's Healthcare System.
