COPsync911 Implemented at Fauquier County, VA Schools
Threat-alert system to protect 22 locations
DALLAS, Aug. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ: COYN), announced today that the Fauquier County Public Schools, and the private Highland School and Wakefield School in Fauquier County, Virginia have implemented the COPsync911™ threat-alert system. The system protects schools, government buildings, hospitals and other potentially at-risk facilities.
Fauquier County is about 40 miles from Washington, DC, encompasses about 650 square miles of primarily rural area and is bordered by the counties of Prince William, Stafford, Culpeper, Warren, Clarke, Loudoun, and Rappahannock. Captain Ray Acors of the Sheriff's Office stated, "Should the need arise, all the Fauquier County Public Schools, Highland School, and Wakefield School can communicate immediately with law enforcement. The COPsync911 system is activated by school faculty and staff when a threatening situation arises and allows the employees to send an immediate and silent alert to all other employees, the local law enforcement dispatch center, closest patrol cars and on-duty law enforcement officers, even if they are away from their patrol car. The school staff, the responding officers and the local dispatcher communicate about the incident as it unfolds via a "Crisis Communications Portal."
