LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Core Technology Foundation, Inc. (CoreTech) announced today that it has launched operations as a nonprofit organization that is pioneering technology and consulting services for global humanitarian causes.
CoreTech's mission is to leverage open-source software to build transformational technology solutions for the benefit of the nonprofit sector, empowering these organizations to do significantly more global good without the prohibitive costs and complexity associated with commercial off-the-shelf solutions or high-priced technology consultancies.
CoreTech's CORE (Central, Open, Reusable, Easy) services framework is a reusable open-source suite of tools and services that simplify many technological complexities featured in today's enterprise grade applications, such as cloud scalability, redundancy, security, personal identity and micro-transactions. Further, CORE provides a versatile, robust platform for rapid prototyping of functionally rich applications.
CoreTech's current initiatives include:
- A mobile application that will dramatically improve access to clean water in developing countries, using an ecosystem of micro-transactions and local entrepreneurs;
- A camp management application for nonprofit camps catering to the needs of children with serious medical conditions; and
- A specialized social media platform for a robotics competition nonprofit that improves communications and increases awareness across more than 3,000 participating teams. These competitions have been globally heralded as re-establishing interest among youth in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
CoreTech's operations are dedicated to supporting activities that qualify as charitable under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code (IRC). As a result, the organization is able to accept tax-deductible contributions and foundation grants.
