Cormetech, Inc. Exemplifies Environmental Leadership by Achieving Climate Registered(TM) Status
Reporting complete and accurate emissions to The Climate Registry supports emissions management and reduction opportunities
DURHAM, N.C., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Cormetech, Inc. achieved the environmental leadership status of Climate Registered™ by successfully registering its comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory according to the rigorous standards of The Climate Registry. Participation in The Registry's voluntary program demonstrates Cormetech's pioneering role within the air pollution control industry.
Climate Registered is the critical first step in a successful emissions management and reduction strategy. By establishing a clear and consistent inventory of GHG emissions, Cormetech gains insight into its operations and processes. It also is better prepared for the potential impact of new regulations and risk management strategies.
"As a leading manufacturer of products for air pollution control, it was a natural step for Cormetech to demonstrate environmental leadership by joining The Climate Registry," said Steve Suttle, Cormetech's President & CEO. He further stated that, "Environmental Stewardship is one of our core corporate values, and I am proud that we have shown our commitment to this value by becoming Climate Registered™."
Cormetech is recognized as a world leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of catalysts for SCR systems for control of nitrogen oxides from stationary sources. With manufacturing facilities in Durham, North Carolina and Cleveland, Tennessee, Cormetech services the power generation, petro-chemical refinery, and industrial processing industries worldwide. Cormetech SCR catalysts are highly efficient and cost effective - capable of reducing > 90% of NOx in exhaust streams. Cormetech's homogeneous honeycomb titania-based ceramic catalysts are integral to high performing SCR technology. Cormetech supplies a proven solution for nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction with low SO2 to SO3 conversion, as well as mercury oxidation with guaranteed performance, backed by laboratory testing, engineering analysis, and field performance data.
Becoming Climate Registered requires the annual calculation, verification and reporting of complete and accurate GHG emissions inventories in a transparent manner for all North American locations. This consistency streamlines reporting and allows for easy data comparison across time and between organizations.
"Organizations that are Climate Registered are the true environmental leaders setting examples for others within their industries and communities. They work ahead of the curve and have voluntarily taken responsibility for reporting their emissions according to the most rigorous standards available," said Diane Wittenberg, Executive Director of The Climate Registry. "Cormetech has now joined this powerful community of Climate Registered organizations and has substantive data guiding and supporting its sustainable activities."
