Corporate Law Boutique Adopts "Lexcuity PC" as New Banner for Firm Homeier Law PC
SHERMAN OAKS, Calif., Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles-based law firm Homeier Law PC announced on January 2, 2019 that it has changed its name to Lexcuity PC (www.lexcuity.com). Since its founding in 2009, the boutique corporate, transactional law firm has focused on mainstream and alternative corporate finance, including the emerging areas of crowdfunding and tokenized security offerings.
Renaming and rebranding of the firm coincides with a change in ownership: Vanessa Au and Charles Kaufman will continue as shareholders of Lexcuity PC, while Jor Law, a founder of Homeier Law PC, though no longer a practicing attorney or shareholder at the firm, will maintain a close connection and ongoing working relationship with the firm as an important strategic partner and industry consultant. Meanwhile, Michael Homeier has departed from the firm and continues in solo practice.
"We purposely selected a name for the firm that doesn't focus on any particular individuals. We work collaboratively as a team, both internally and with our clients," said Au.
"The name Lexcuity combines 'Lex,' meaning 'law' in Latin, and the word 'acuity,' meaning sharpness or keenness of thought, vision, or hearing," Kaufman explained. "In advising our clients, we strive not only to provide keen insights on the law and clarity in the documents we produce, but also to bring a unique and innovative approach to structuring and problem solving."
Jor Law adds, "When Michael and I founded the firm many years ago, we envisioned a firm that would evolve beyond us; Lexcuity provides a brand that matches the creative lawyering that our firm has been known for."
Unchanged will be the firm's client-first approach and its commitment to providing clients with the sophisticated representation and depth of expertise expected from large law firms while offering the responsiveness, efficiency and client attention that only a smaller firm can provide.
While Lexcuity PC's capabilities generally span corporate law's broad range, alternative finance has been and will remain a cornerstone of its practice. Beyond the firm's historical role in the development of EB-5 immigrant investments as a mainstream financing tool, it has pioneered investment crowdfunding and the emerging blockchain and tokenized security industries. The firm continues to be at the forefront of alternative financing by exploring ways that its national and international clients can use these new tools to enhance capital raises and combine them with other domestic and cross-border financing initiatives.
