Coverity Appoints Fred Gerson to Board of Directors
Veteran finance executive to chair Audit Committee
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Coverity Inc., the leader in development testing, today announced the appointment of Fred Gerson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the San Diego Padres, to its board of directors as Chairman of the board's Audit Committee.
Gerson brings over 20 years of financial expertise and directorial oversight to the Coverity board, serving as Chief Financial Officer and holding board positions for multiple companies, both publicly traded and private.

Gerson is currently on the board of directors of Major League Baseball's captive insurance entity and is director and chair of the audit committee of Infoblox, a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. He also serves on the boards of Klever Logic and Authentify Inc. Gerson was previously director and chairman of the audit committee of DivX Inc. until its acquisition in 2010.
Gerson has been with the San Diego Padres since 2001. He began his career at Ernst & Young as an audit manager and has subsequently led successful initial public offerings as the CFO of
Maxis Inc. and Marimba Inc., which was acquired by BMC Software. Gerson also served as CFO of the Coin-Operated Games Division of Atari Inc. and Peter Norton Computing Inc., which was acquired by Symantec.
