ATLANTA, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the enthusiastic response of its free calling program to Japan, Cox Communications today announced that it will extend the Cox Digital Telephone and Cox Wireless calling program until April 10, 2011. In addition, Cox Wireless customers can continue to send text messages to Japan during this period free of charge. This program includes Cox Digital Telephone calls to both landline and cellular telephones dialed to country code 81. Cox Digital Telephone calls will be retroactive to March 11, 2011.
The program is automatic for all Cox Wireless customers with international calling and residential Cox Digital Telephone customers with Cox Long Distance.
"Our customers are finding great value in this program and we are very proud that we can continue to make it easier for them to get in touch with their friends and family in Japan during the after weeks of this terrible tragedy," said Leo Brennan, Cox's chief operating officer.
