C.R. England Recognizes Trainer and Drivers of the Year for 2012
SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- C.R. England, a Salt Lake City-based global transportation provider, has recognized seven drivers from among a C.R. England fleet of more than 7,800 nationwide as 2012 "Drive Life" Drivers of the Year.
"It is a pleasure for us to honor drivers who represent our company and themselves by their outstanding commitment to service and safe driving," said Chad England, C.R. England Chief Operating Officer. "These individuals have been recognized for being the best of our fleet and among the finest in the transportation industry."
Award winners must have been working with C.R. England for at least five years and have exhibited exceptional operational and safety records. The winners were selected from more than 500 candidates and individually recognized at C.R. England headquarters on January 31, 2013.
Andy Fechner was recognized as Trainer of the Year. Fechner has been driving for C.R. England since December 1992. He currently drives in the Dedicated fleet. He has over three million safe driving miles and has been a trainer since January 2003.
Daniel Diaz is an owner operator and has been driving for C.R. England for over seven years. He currently drives in the Container Division and has over 1.1 million safe driving miles. His driver manager says Diaz always makes a point to run ahead of schedule, is always willing to make swaps or help out as needed, and he frequently receives positive feedback from his apprentices.
Jose Jovan is an owner operator who has been driving for C.R. England for over seven years and currently is driving in the Dedicated Division. He has driven over 735,000 safe miles. He is very hands-on with new drivers coming into the fleet and takes time to train them effectively.
Richard Cole has been driving for C.R. England for over five years and is currently in the National Division. He has over 720,000 safe miles. He boasts three American Bowling Congress watches from the national league for his bowling scores of 277.
Preston Minter is a company driver who has been with the company for over seven years, and is in the Dedicated Division. He has over 590,000 safe miles. As an evaluator for his fleet, he works with new drivers hired out of the schools, working with their skills and needs, and communicating back to the driver manager regarding their strengths and weaknesses to assure their success.
Shaun Goss, a company driver, has been driving with C.R. England over seven years and is currently in the Regional Division. She has driven over 940,000 safe miles. Her mother is now a team driver with her. Growing up in northern Michigan she trapped mink, otter, muskrat, coyote and beaver as a hobby.
Daniel Finch is a company driver who has been with C.R. England for over 12 years. Daniel drives in the Dedicated Division and has over 1,378,000 safe miles. He describes himself as a big time train fan. He has a love of trains and his nickname from his peers is, "Choo Choo." He studies trains and railroad history constantly and is a member of the Colorado Railroad Historical Foundation. Daniel is a repeat winner of this award, having been recognized in 2011 as well.
