CREATION Health Total Health 2014 Unites Medical Professionals and Community Leaders in One-Day Comprehensive Health Fair

MIAMI, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CREATION Health, a worldwide health care institution dedicated to lifestyle transformation, is hosting the first total health event on Sunday, February 2 at the Miami Airport Convention Center, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CREATION Health Total Health 2014 is a free health fair that seeks to inspire, educate and motivate families in South Florida communities with a mindset of total health and prevention. The event expects over 5,000 attendees.

This one-day comprehensive health event will feature various workshops and presentations, health screenings conducted by four of Florida's top hospitals, and Q&A sessions with the area's most respected medical professionals. The day will culminate with the presentation of CREATION Health's 2014 Total Health Advocate Award, which recognizes local professionals and thought leaders who have shown tremendous dedication in working to improve the overall well-being of South Florida communities.

Maria Marin, radio personality and motivational speaker, and Dr. Karent Sierra, dentist, spokesperson, actress and model, will both be presented with CREATION Health's 2014 Total Health Advocate Award. Marin hosts a nationally syndicated radio show on ABC Radio Networks affiliates and is the author of "Secrets of a Confident Woman." As a motivational speaker, her contagious energy and charismatic delivery inspires audiences to achieve their goals. Dr. Sierra is Miami's No. 1 celebrity dentist who firmly believes that creating "perfect" smiles can change lives. This former beauty queen owns a private practice in Coral Gables, and most recently has been a recurring guest on the hit TV show The Doctors. Both women employ their expertise and talents to promote comprehensive well-being in South Florida communities.

Additional award recipients include distinguished members of the community like Mayor Carlos Hernandez of Hialeah and representatives for Mayor Thomas Regalado of Miami, the General Consulate of Israel to Florida and Puerto Rico, and the Miami-Dade County Health Department.

During the event CREATION Health, which has been featured on major broadcasts including Good Morning America, Oprah and CNN's Anderson Cooper 360,will present its 8-point wellness program designed to help people live their lives to the fullest through total health of the body, mind and spirit. Other key events of the day include Urban Strategies' presentation to better explain the Affordable Care Act and a cooking demonstration from the American Heart Association and 3ABN Latino Cooking. In addition to the various workshops, Palmetto Hospital, Baptist Health South Florida, Miami Heart Institute and Miami Beach Community Health Center will provide free on-site health screenings for cholesterol, blood glucose, prostate cancer, triglycerides, and more.

Dr. Jose V. Perez, a board-certified doctor in family medicine and wound care, will moderate a Q&A panel of Miami's leading doctors. Dr. Perez completed his doctoral training at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he now serves as a clinical professor of medicine. He practices at three main hospitals in the Miami area with a special interest in wounds and skin disorders. He is president and principal investigator for Lakes Research, a local facility that strives to advance the science of medicine.
