Crescent Resources Starts Construction on New Phase at Springfield
David Weekley Homes commits to 90 percent of new homesites
FORT MILL, S.C., May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Developer Crescent Resources has started construction on a new phase of 43 homesites at Springfield, its popular Fort Mill, S.C. community. Builders have committed to purchasing all 43 homesites, with David Weekley Homes buying 38 and builder Evans Coghill Homes, LLC purchasing five. Development of the phase is expected to be complete in October, and home construction will start before the end of this year.
"Homes have been selling swiftly in Springfield, and there is a notable increase in demand," said James Martin, Crescent vice president. "Builders such as David Weekley Homes and Evans Coghill are creating desirable homes in a location that is unmatched in the greater Charlotte area, and buyers are responding."
Just 20 minutes from uptown Charlotte, Springfield offers residents a wealth of recreational opportunities, access to a highly ranked school system and low property taxes. Winding through the community is an 18-hole daily-fee golf course that shares the community's name. Orchard Park, the community's five-acre amenity park, features a family activities center, three swimming pools, six tennis courts, a playground and a pavilion. The 2,300-acre Anne Close Springs Greenway is adjacent to Springfield, and a trail leads from the community to the Springs Farm Market next door.
"David Weekley Homes will offer a variety of home designs in Springfield," said Rob Gislason, Division President of David Weekley Homes in Charlotte. "Our homes will incorporate several flexible options – including full guest suites on the main floor, dual master bedrooms, three-car garages and walk-in storage – to fit the way families live today."
In the new phase, David Weekley floor plans will range from 2,800 to more than 4,000 square feet. Friendly to the environment and pocketbooks, the builder's EnergySaver™ Homes are backed by the Environments For Living® program. In addition to the new phase, David Weekley Homes also offers custom building opportunities on other homesites it owns in the community.
"Evans Coghill Homes was one of Springfield's original Guild Builders, and we are pleased to continue the tradition in the new phase," says Alan Banks, Evans Coghill Homes' co-owner. "Our portfolio will feature the beautiful southern architecture for which our homes in Springfield are known, while offering home plans and features for today's savvy homeowner. These include multigenerational home plans, large back porches that serve as another room of your home, casual dining spaces in lieu of seldom-used formal dining rooms, guaranteed energy efficiency, and building materials and finishes that last."
Evans Coghill's homes feature four to five bedrooms and range from 3,000 to 3,900 square feet. The builder offers plan customization, ensuring buyers have the home features they want and need.
Springfield has sold 17 homes so far this year, averaging more than three homes sold per month. The community takes its name from the original Springs family homestead, which was completed in 1806 and is still standing today.
