LONDON, March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- To some extent, pesticide registrations reflect the development trend of the pesticide industry in China .
According to data released by the ICAMA on 31 Dec., 2015, there were altogether 425 new registrations of pesticide technical (renewals excluded) in China in 2015, more than there were between 2010 and 2014. However, registrations of new pesticide technical in 2015 increased by only 0.95% compared to that of 2014, significantly less than growth rates over the past three years (15.23%, 16.07% and 29.54% respectively from 2012 to 2014).
Among the 425 new pesticide registrations, 164 were herbicides, 102 were insecticides and 134 were fungicides. The quantity of new fungicide technical registrations ranked second out of the three major pesticides (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides), surpassing that of insecticides for the first time in 2015.
In 2015, 13 new pesticide technical were registered in China for the first time, including 7 fungicides, 3 herbicides, 2 fungicides and 1 acaricide. Of these, 7 (most were old products) were registered by multinational corporations and the other 6 were registered by domestic enterprises and were self-developed.
The number of new registrations can show market trends to some extent. Glufosinate-ammonium, nicosulfuron, clethodim, dicamba, mesotrione and imazamox are herbicides, the largest number ever registered in one year; thiamethoxam, pymetrozine, imidacloprid and nitenpyram are insecticides which had the largest quantity of new registrations; pyraclostrobin, azoxystrobin, boscalid, difenoconazole, fluazinam, dimethomorph and flutriafol were the most commonly registered fungicides in 2015.
Shandong Weifang Rainbow Chemical Co., Ltd., Huai'an Guirui Chemical Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Tianfeng Biological Sciences Co., Ltd. were the most active registrants, obtaining a large number of approvals. These three companies made more than 10 new registrations in 2015, and Weifang Rainbow in particular made 26 new registrations.In 2015, the quantity of new pesticide technical registrations in China totaled 425, with a YoY growth of 0.95%. Out of these registrations, 407 were formal while the other 18 were temporary. According to the ICAMA, the 425 new pesticide technical registrations approved in China in 2015 were obtained by 184 enterprises, including 174 domestic and 10 foreign enterprises. According to data from the ICAMA, of the 425 new pesticide technical registrations in China in 2015, 13 were first-time registrations. Out of these 13 registrations, 7 were registered by multinational corporations.
There were 13 herbicide technical which were registered more than 3 times in China in 2015. The most registered herbicides included glufosinate-ammonium, nicosulfuron, dicamba, clethodim, mesotrione and imazamox, which were all registered more than five times.
According to data from the ICAMA, there were 102 new insecticide technical registrations approved in 2015 (renewals excluded), covering 38 active ingredients, which include 35 agricultural insecticides and 4 hygienic insecticides (one is both agricultural insecticide and hygienic insecticide).
In 2015, the quantity of both new registrations and registered varieties of fungicide technical continued to increase. According to the ICAMA, there were 134 new registrations of fungicide technical (excluding renewals), covering 55 active ingredients in 2015.
