CrossCore, Inc. Taps Marty Gallager, Highly Acclaimed Powerlifter, Coach, And Fitness Author As Senior Advisor
DUARTE, Calif., March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CrossCore®, Inc., the founders of rotational bodyweight training, announced today that Marty Gallagher, acclaimed author and coach, will join the company as a senior consultant and advisor on tactical training strategies, program development and trainer empowerment and development. In his new role, Gallagher will be focused on developing and implementing CrossCore® strength programs for active U.S. Military personnel and Tier One Special Ops Teams domestically and abroad.
CrossCore® has a long history of training Military personnel through its War Machine® Rotational Bodyweight Trainer™. The benefits of the War Machine® and CrossCore180® is that it elevates training consistency during deployment keeping soldiers active and ready for when duty calls.
"I am very excited to bring Marty Gallagher aboard due to his experience and expertise," said J.P. Brice, President and Co-Founder of CrossCore, Inc. "One of the things that excites me most is the fact that Marty legitimizes CrossCore® as both a muscle and strength building tool, as well as the perfect portable bodyweight training device for Tier One Spec Ops teams. To see Marty 'burn guys down' on the CrossCore180® Rotational Bodyweight Trainer™ just as he would with barbells and dumbbells is truly a sight to see."
Gallagher currently works with elite military personal on a weekly basis, both on an official and unofficial basis. It was his ongoing work with the armed services that led to his first contact with CrossCore®. Gallagher was exploring differing types of portable training devices and analyzing their effectiveness for elite soldier deployed to remote locations without access to conventional gyms and equipment. He came across the CrossCore180® and immediately recognized its potential and versatility. In addition to being able to perform classical fixed position bodyweight training protocols, the CrossCore180® offered the ability to perform pulley movement exercises and create rotational training exercises unlike anything available anywhere.
"I initially became involved with CrossCore® after being asked by some Spec Ops friends to devise a 'real man' protocol for use with a portable training device while on remote deployment", said Marty Gallagher. "When I saw the CrossCore180® - complete with pulley - I was immediately and completely intrigued. Then I got my hands on an actual unit, I began putting it through its paces; I was able to create both fixed-pin and pulled-pin (rotational) protocols that enabled both myself and my national and world champion powerlifters to hit positive failure on low rep sets. I came to understand that this device was head-and-shoulders above every other portable resistance training device on the market. The sheer number of exercises doable on the CrossCore180® device is mind-blowing: the rotational aspect it confers on resistance exercise opens a whole new vista of progress possibilities; the pulley-related exercises are a goldmine of possibilities. The difference between the CrossCore180® and other portable devices is akin to the difference between a World War I bi-plane and the space shuttle. Once you have worked with the CrossCor180® all other portable devices seem lacking, on account of the irrefutable fact that theyare lacking."
Gallagher's training experience is enhanced by extensive writing credits, coaching expertise as well as personal athletic success. Gallagher wrote the highly-praised book Purposeful Primitive, served as a training editor for Muscle & Fitness magazine and the longtime "live-online" columnist for The Washington Post as well as penned numerous articles his long career as a training expert.
As a coach, Gallagher guided the United States powerlifting squad to the 1991 world team title in Orebro, Sweden. He was co-head coach for Black's Gym, the five-time national champion powerlifting team. Marty has developed and worked with hall-of-fame strength athletes, including powerlifting immortals Ed Coan, Kirk Karwoski and Doug Furnas. Gallagher coaches a select few national and international level lifters to this day.
As an athlete, Gallagher has won the IPF World Master Powerlifting Championship. He has placed 2nd and 3rd at other IPF World Championships and was the six-time USPF National Masters Powerlifting champion in three different weight classes.
