
CRUISE Thomas Cook Cruise Conquer the Three Peaks
PETERBOROUGH, England, May 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Last week, 23 intrepid walkers from Thomas Cook climbed three of Yorkshire's biggest peaks, raising over 4,500 pounds Sterling for the Thomas Cook Children's Charity which supports sick and disadvantaged children across the world.
The team of managers and staff from the Accrington-based Thomas Cook Cruise Sales Centre and Peterborough head office faced wind, hail and rain but all managed to complete the challenge in less than 12 hours.
The Thomas Cook Children's Charity was set up in 2009. It works with a variety of appeals and projects for sick and disadvantaged children both here in the UK and overseas. Funds are raised by Thomas Cook's employees along with customer donations placed at time of booking and unwanted foreign currency collected onboard Thomas Cook Airlines and in retail stores. The charity is set to raise an outstanding 1 million pounds in 2011.
