CSFGB Secures Highest Number of Million-Dollar Settlements in Virginia in 2017

RICHMOND, Va., March 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Cantor Stoneburner Ford Grana & Buckner is featured in Virginia Lawyers Weekly's annual compilation of million-dollar settlements a total of 6 times—more than any other law firm in Virginia. Their highest settlement, which sits at #2 on the list at $15 million, involved a 47-year old man who was hit and paralyzed by a driver who had a seizure. Sitting at #8, the firm's $5.187 million settlement was secured on behalf of the family of a 22-year old college student, who died during a dental procedure in a newly renovated dental office. During construction, the oxygen and nitrous oxide lines were accidentally switched, killing the man.

Cantor Stoneburner Ford Grana & Buckner also secured $5 million—at #9 on the list—for two intellectually disabled women who consented to abortions without due process. After an initial win and subsequent reversal, they were able to amend the complaint and proceed on a new theory that ultimately got their clients the settlement they needed.
