CT Networks taps NVIDIA GPUs to deliver high-performance architecture applications in the cloud

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CT Networks, a leader in the delivery of hosted applications and advanced hardware solutions, today announced a new offering created to deliver high-performance, computer-aided design and graphics applications to customers through the cloud. 

CT Networks' new solution is powered by NVIDIA® GPUs and the HP DL380 P server. Running the advanced Citrix XenApp Platinum 6.5 application, it enables customers to easily access graphics-intensive design applications remotely at unprecedented speed.

New York-based architectural firm Steven Kratchman Architect, P.C. (SKAPC), is leveraging the GPU-based system to remotely run the Autodesk AutoCAD application, providing it with a powerful new tool to enhance its design work. The firm needed a way to provide access to the AutoCAD application and design files to employees working remotely on a variety of computing platforms, but its former in-house system lacked the required performance and flexibility.  

SKAPC owner Steven Kratchman turned to CT Networks and NVIDIA GPUs to resolve this issue. CT Networks' solution utilizes Citrix XenApp 6.5, giving the firm access to the AutoCAD program remotely using Citrix HDX 3D technologies.  SKAPC has a mix of Mac and PC users who are now leveraging Citrix Receiver for Mac, providing the optimum user experience. With NVIDIA GPUs, CT Networks offloads the graphic-intensive portions of AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative Suite from the user session onto the graphics card in the cloud.

The combination of technologies was the answer to SKAPC's search for a means to work remotely on a device of their choice. Today they are reaping the rewards of putting this solution into action.
