CUI Global Secures Repeat Order for GasPTi Device from Leading North American Power & Energy Producer

HOUSTON, Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CUI Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: CUI) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Orbital Gas Systems North America. ("Orbital N.A."), has been awarded a fourth purchase order in as many months for its GasPTi device from a leading U.S.-based power and energy producer. The devices are being utilized in a process control application to optimize the efficiency and minimize maintenance on certain of the customer's gas-fired compressor turbines in the northeastern United States.

GasPTi combines two patented gas technologies – GasPT® analyzer and VE Technology® sample probe and system – to create a unique and revolutionary method to almost instantly and accurately determine natural gas quality in a cost-efficient manner. First deployed by the customer in 2015, the speed and accuracy of GasPTi allows the customer to precisely control the air/fuel ratio injected into its turbines to decrease fuel consumption, reduce emissions and improve their efficiency and life-expectancy. Given the size and number of the customer's turbine facilities, GasPTi is a faster, lower-cost and highly accurate alternative to slower gas chromatographs and the prohibitive costs and ongoing maintenance they require.
