Dad Blog Picks Top 5 Gadgets from CES to Make a Parent's Life Less Stressful
NORTHAMPTON, Mass., Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Moms and Dads are constantly trying to balance all phases of their lives and get through the day without forgetting to pick up the kids! In an effort to see if technology and electronics could help reduce the stress of parents, writers from DadDoes.Com traveled to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. After wandering 1.6 million square feet of show space, Dad Does found five gadgets that promise to make a parent's life a little less chaotic.
While there are clearly no shortage of product review blogs and gadget blogs that cover the CES, most of those sites are in search of the latest and greatest cutting-edge gadgets. Parents on the other hand want products that work out of the box, don't require a computer degree to use and, most importantly, can make their life a little easier or better in some way.
"As a guy, I like cutting-edge gadgets - but now as a Dad I need gadgets that can just make my life a little easier. I think the best gadget you could give a parent would be something that added about 3 hours to their day. Since that does not exist ... yet, we looked for gadgets that could make parents more efficient and less stressed," states Dan Nessel, founder of DadDoes.Com.
The top five gadgets that DadDoes.Com selected as most likely to reduce stress in a parent's life are -
- Bringrr. A car phone charger that sets off an alarm if you go to drive out of the garage but have left your cell phone at home.
- Be A HeadCase iPhone Bottle and Can Opener Case. A case for your phone that includes a bottle opener.
- Eye-Fi Connect X2. A memory card for digital cameras that wirelessly sends your photos to your computer, phone and photo sharing sites - all without the card ever leaving your camera.
- Neer. An iPhone and Android app that allows families to stay connected and share information automatically.
- The emWave2. A portable device that promises to help you reduce stress levels and increase energy levels.

Nessel states, "I am pretty sure we are the only site to include a bottle opener in our top picks from the Consumer Electronics Show, but we believe that Moms and Dads want gadgets that are useful and simply work. Parents have such busy lives that they are more interested in tried and tested technologies as opposed to uncertain cutting-edge technologies."
DadDoes.Com is also providing articles on the top toys from CES, the top gadgets that your kids will want and the top 5 gadgets that don't exist but someone should make.
Dad Does is different than most Dad blogs and product review sites in that it does not accept any money for reviewing or featuring products on its site. All product reviews are done by real Moms and Dads, completely unbiased, and simply focus on if the product can make a parent's life easier or better in some way.
Nessel concludes, "We saw a great deal of amazing products at CES, but the real test comes when parents use these products for a few weeks and we see if they work in the real world. We hope to do hands-on reviews on these gadgets and report back on how they hold up."
