Daihonzan Chozen-ji International Zen Dojo Announces Zen Art Show in Kalihi Valley
HONOLULU, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On the weekend of November 18, 2011, Chozen-ji International Zen Dojo invites guests to a viewing of its students' and Zen masters' works in Chozen-ji Yaki (ceramics), Kado (Way of the Flower), and Shodo (Way of the Brush).
The works of arts are passing reflections of the students' and masters' training in Shugyo aimed at developing the inner life and not as particular accomplishments or as in ends themselves. In any pursuit besides the prospect of developing skill, apart from any specific achievement, there is a chance to broaden one's outlook and attain a greater degree of maturity, whereby a person's effectiveness comes out of his essential being. The ultimate goal of the student is Shugyo, the deepest spiritual training possible, to live life as a Do, a Way, learning the inner principles through a state of complete concentration and relaxation, and applying these principles to each moment of the student's life to live fully moment by moment.
