Los Altos' business is comprised of a manufacturing division, as well as two distribution companies that buy and distribute product from both Los Altos Foods and from third party manufacturers. Los Altos also sells to small shops and chains, and large retail stores. With multiple facets to their highly regulated business, having enterprise wide visibility, consistent real-time data access with a full audit trail, and strict process control is key to achieving their planned growth.
Currently utilizing a homegrown system, Los Altos was concerned about the system's scalability and its capacity to provide the level of process control necessary to support their expansion. To keep up with demand and successfully serve their growing customer base, Los Altos would need an ERP solution that can not only handle all of their functional requirements, but will also be capable of evolving along with their business, serving as a catalyst for growth.

Still in development, the fully-integrated DSD application will allow Los Altos drivers to create/manage orders, create/print invoices, scan products, capture signatures, manage their route, and more, all from the road. With the data stored locally, it will sync the instant there is an internet connection, providing Los Altos real-time access to the data and removing the need to wait for periodic back-ups or manually data entry.
Los Altos also mentioned robust traceability, user configurability, fast and accurate reporting, and the simplicity of new version upgrades and release updates as additional significant benefits.
