Dallas Attorney Forms Murchison Law Firm to Serve Oil & Gas Pipeline Clients

DALLAS, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Well-known Dallas energy attorney Vince Murchison is announcing the formation of the Murchison Law Firm, a boutique practice focusing on regulatory, operational and transactional matters for the energy pipeline industry.

With more than 20 years of large-firm experience representing energy clients, Mr. Murchison says he views his new firm as an opportunity to offer dedicated legal expertise at more reasonable rates for companies in the oil and gas pipeline sector.

"The timing is right to take on this challenge and enhance the legal services we can offer to existing clients and other energy companies involved in upstream and midstream development and production," Mr. Murchison says. Mr. Murchison most recently was a Partner in the Dallas office of SNR Denton, one of the world's largest law firms, where he advised numerous clients on regulatory and business matters in pipeline transportation and storage. His experience includes work in regulatory compliance, project development, operations, risk management, integrity management and maintenance. His track record also includes administrative proceedings, National Environmental Policy Act matters, and environmental permitting and compliance. Prior to his work with SNR Denton, Mr. Murchison was a Partner in the Dallas office of Patton Boggs LLP.

Mr. Murchison currently serves on advisory boards for the American Petroleum Institute and the Association of Oil Pipelines, which are responsible for monitoring and influencing federal energy policies. He also is active in the Energy Law and Environmental Law sections maintained by the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas and Dallas Bar Association. He also serves in a number of volunteer capacities in both district-wide and local governance matters for the Dallas Independent School District.

Mr. Murchison earned his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 1991, and received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.
