Dallas Committee for a Qualified Judiciary Presents Slate of 23 Qualified Candidates for 2012 Dallas County Primary
DALLAS, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Twenty-three judicial candidates have been endorsed as qualified to serve as judges in Dallas County, the non-partisan Committee for a Qualified Judiciary (CQJ) announced today. The candidates are vying for 10 judicial seats listed on the ballot for the Dallas County primary, which is set for May 29, 2012.
CQJ evaluated both Republican and Democratic candidates who will appear on the primary ballot, inviting each of the 33 candidates to participate in a thorough evaluation process. A total of 26 candidates participated in the process.
CQJ surveyed all participating Dallas County judicial candidates regarding their credentials, including a review of their trial court experience, the breadth of their practices, expertise and certifications, and the most significant cases handled by the candidates during their careers. CQJ also personally interviewed all of the participating candidates.
Those who took part in the evaluations were vetted by CQJ based on their legal abilities, integrity, judicial temperament and commitment to the fair and impartial administration of justice. CQJ also conducted reference checks and studied the Dallas Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Poll results on each judicial candidate. In many of the races, all listed candidates were found to be qualified.
