Dallas County Schools Partners with Lumetech Group to Brighten Transportation Service Centers with Energy Efficient LED Lighting Solution

DALLAS, March 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lumetech Group, a leading provider of commercial LED lighting solutions, announced today the successful installation of an energy efficient LED lighting solution in Dallas County Schools (DCS) parking lots.  Dallas County Schools, operators of one of the largest pupil transportation operators in the United States, maintains 10 service centers that house its 1,700 bus pupil transportation fleet.

The DCS retrofit installation was funded in part by incentives provided by the Oncor LED Lighting Program as part of its commitment to reduce energy consumption and demand.  Through this innovative program, Oncor offers significant incentives for business, government, and nonprofit customers to upgrade parking lots, garages, and other facilities with energy efficient LED lighting and controls.

It is estimated that the annual energy savings to DCS will be in excess of 505,000 kWh per year. In addition, as a result of the enhanced performance and reliability of the new lighting, the DCS expects to save approximately $363,600 in electricity and maintenance over the lifetime of the bulbs.
