Dallas Mom Launches Delivery Service To Simplify Homemade Baby Food
Organic produce and recipes delivered weekly provide convenient and affordable solution for DFW-area families
DALLAS, July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Founded by moms for moms, Dallas-based organic produce delivery company Lilly & Bella just launched and is now taking orders in North Texas. The weekly subscription-based service offers fresh, organic produce delivered to customers' doorsteps, accompanied by handcrafted easy-to-follow recipes, empowering families to make their own baby food from scratch.
"I was a new mom struggling with finding the time to cook or even grocery shop for my infant daughter while working a demanding full-time job as the director of charter schools in south Dallas," said Karen Salerno, CEO of Lilly & Bella. Unlike Blue Apron, HelloFresh and other meal delivery services, Lilly & Bella is aimed at parents with babies and toddlers, enabling them to cook nourishing and healthful meals for their children using organic produce.
Dallas celebrity chef, cookbook author, Food Network Star and mother of two Sarah Penrod is an advocate and spokesperson for the company and is assisting with recipe development. Lilly & Bella subscribers can choose from four different stages depending on their child's age:
- Stage One – 4-6 months. Introduces babies to solid foods for the first time ($24.99/week)
- Stage Two – 6-8 months. Blends fruits and veggies together to introduce new flavors ($29.00/week)
- Stage Three – 8+ months. Moves away from pureed foods to chunkier foods and textures ($29.00/week)
- Stage Four – For families who have graduated from baby food but still want weekly deliveries of fresh, organic produce that they can prepare with and for their young families ($34.99/week)
By the time they reach the last stage, children will have tasted more than 30 different fruits and vegetables in more than 64 recipes.
In addition to offering an organic produce delivery service to new families, Lilly & Bella is also focused on community outreach and service. Lilly & Bella is in the process of building a community of mothers as a network for sharing stories, advice, inspiration, fears and accomplishments.
The company also donates boxes of produce to underserved communities in Dallas and recently partnered with Mosaic Family Services, which company founders hope is the first of many partnerships to come.
