Dallas Nursing Institute Appoints New Dean of Nursing
DALLAS, Sept. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dallas Nursing Institute has announced the appointment of Gwendolyn Gaston as its new Dean of Nursing, effective September 1st. As a key member of the leadership team and head academician, Gaston will be central to further advancing DNI programs to provide students with the academic rigor and preparation to be exceptional nurses in the field. She will also spearhead efforts to broaden the nonprofit institution's academic offerings and continue its service to the Dallas community and beyond.

Gaston's deep history with DNI spans nearly a decade, including her recent role as the Director of Nursing for the institution's Associate Degree of Nursing Programs, and past engagements as Assistant Director for Nursing Laboratories, and Didactic Faculty Nursing. Prior to her tenure with DNI, she served as Interim Director of Urgent Care at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, New York, Senior Director of Ambulatory Clinical Services with Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, adjunct faculty at Davenport University in Dearborn, Michigan, and Director of Ambulatory Clinical Services at Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit among others.
She holds a diploma in nursing from Kings County School of Nursing (Brooklyn College of CUNY), Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in Southfield Michigan, and is currently working toward completion of a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.
