In addition, he has worked in numerous cases as an arbitrator, mediator, special master, technical advisor and consultant or expert witness.

He studied law at The University of Texas at Austin, is an adjunct professor of law at The University of Texas School of Law, and is on the faculty of the Patent Resources Group. He has bar admissions in Texas and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
