D.C. Department of Health Care Finance Awards PSI Contract to Provide Enrollment Broker Services
DENVER, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Policy Studies Inc. (PSI), a recognized leader in Medicaid enrollment and outreach services, announced today that it has signed a contract with the District of Columbia Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) to provide enrollment broker services for the District's Healthy Families, Immigrant Children and Alliance Programs. These programs offer eligible Medicaid and State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) beneficiaries an array of comprehensive healthcare and mental health services. The initial 12-month contract is valued at $1.65 million. PSI will begin administering the services in November 2011.
As the enrollment broker, PSI will administer the managed care enrollment process for approximately 140,000 beneficiaries. Services include operating a call and fulfillment center, performing outreach and beneficiary education services, processing enrollments, and managing a customer-friendly Web site.
Specifically, PSI will support the District in its efforts to improve beneficiary satisfaction and increase voluntary enrollment rates. It will do this by implementing a fully integrated customer services solution. "We engage, educate, and support beneficiaries throughout their entire time with the program—from enrollment to re-enrollment to when their eligibility changes," explains Sharon Ware, PSI's regional vice president for the program. "Consequently, beneficiaries are better informed and can more easily choose the right health plan and primary care provider for themselves and their families."
With more than 25 years' experience administering health and human services programs, PSI brings a wealth of expertise and innovation to the District. The company currently operates other government-sponsored health insurance programs in Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Tennessee, and South Carolina—serving more than 1 million individuals in Medicaid and CHIP programs.
