DC: President of Syria's Interim Government to Outline His Nation's Future at National Press Club Event

WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday, October 26, President of the Syrian Interim Government Dr. Jawad Abu Hatab will hold a historic news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., to discuss his government's achievements and to outline strategies for the future of a free and democratic Syria.

Backgrounder:

Since the beginning of the Syrian revolution in March 2011, which started with peaceful demonstrations by people asking for democratic changes, Bashar Al Assad's brutal regime killed, imprisoned and tortured anyone calling for change. His regime converted the entire country into a human slaughterhouse, killing men, children, women, and the elderly without any mercy using barrel bombs and WMD like Sarin gas killing thousands of innocent people including children and women while the international community gave the Syrian People empty promises and invisible red lines and left them to face these horrific atrocities alone.

Iran, Hizbullah and other forces sided with Assad in his criminal activities. Over 6 million people became refugees in their own country and internally and over 8 million of the population left to other countries to save their lives and the lives of their loved ones. From such a devastating situation, Dr. Jawad Abu Hatab took the lead to help establish an Interim Government operating inside of Syria and building a strategy for a better Syria.
