Ryan focuses on Munch Malone, a seriously inept golfer on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, who, at 70 years old, has a very high handicap that draws some unlikely attention from the afterlife. From on high, two scratch golfers---both quite deceased---have been scouring Earth on a quest to find the right golfer. If they are ever to again play their beloved game, they need a serious hacker for a grand experiment from the Great Beyond. And then they find Munch. Ryan's book takes the reader through some hilarious moments as Munch Malone begins to buy reconditioned clubs that once belonged to the heavenly golf duo in the sky. With each club purchase he plays better golf, winning his club championship, and eventually, qualifying to play in the USGA Senior Amateur Championship at The Greenbrier Hotel.

Munch and the media begin to realize Malone has some assistance in his amazing effort; his handicap lowers and his game goes scratch through "Contagion" --- the deceased golfers are swinging the clubs, scorching fairways at The Greenbrier's Old White course. Munch is destined to win the Championship, but he is derailed as Vegas operatives plot to steal his clubs. The escapade romps from the golf course into The Greenbrier itself, racing through the hotel's "Bunker" and into its grand Casino, where plots are hatched and emails fly. Munch struggles to overcome obstacles placed in his path as sexual twists punctuate the action and Glocks are drawn on the course.
