Travel comparison website dealchecker.co.uk has seen a significant jump in the number of people searching for flights to Spain in the first quarter of 2012 compared to the same time last year. This is due to the large number of cheap deals available on Spanish holidays, making it an attractive destination during uncertain economic times.

The first quarter of 2012 saw a 66 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of people searching for flights to Spanish destinations, and a 119 per cent increase in searches for flights to Barcelona.
