DefyCCC.com Reacts to the Medical Disinformation Campaign by the "Resist Trump" Coalition
DefyCCC.com reacts to the health-endangering campaign, started on March 14 by a previously unknown group calling itself the Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health. The Consortium attempts to persuade physicians to communicate alarming political messages to their patients.
AUSTIN, Texas, March 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- DefyCCC.com published an article, Climatist Consortium Against Human Health, stating that the Consortium is an outrageous abuse of doctors and patients by extreme anti-Trump political groups. Investigation continues and additional information will be published as it becomes known or as events develop.
Leo Goldstein, the founder and editor of DefyCCC.com, pointed out that the activities of the Consortium and the groups behind it threaten the health of adults and children in the U.S. and other countries. He said, "Even if only a small fraction of medical doctors in this country follows the recommendations of the so-called Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health, millions of men, women, and children will suffer, and thousands of lives might be lost. The medical societies listed by the Consortium as its members must publicly renounce their participation. They must also condemn the abuse of patient - doctor trust for carrying a political agenda. They must warn their members against giving patients wrong medical advice or lying to patients to advance political goals. Doctors must be aware that they cannot rely on statements made by the Environment Protection Agency or regard it as a trustworthy source of health care related information."
DefyCCC.com calls on news outlets, irrespective of their political orientation, to expose the Consortium and to work to mitigate the damage being caused by the Consortium's message and tactics. Separately, DefyCCC.com calls on independent reporters to open their eyes and minds and see which side of the climate change debate is right. A hint: it's not the side that says that the debate is over.
