DEHN Expands Product Range of Surge Protectors for DC Photovoltaic Applications to 1,500 V
FORT PIERCE, Fla., July 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With array voltages increasing to 1,500 V dc, DEHN has developed a new surge protector for operating at that system voltage.
Using the same technology used on its earlier YPV SCI product line, there is now an SPD for 1,500 V dc for PV applications.
DEHN has developed and introduced a new technology and product, specifically designed to function under the unique characteristics found on PV DC systems. The DEHNguard® M YPV SCI for two pole protection, and the DEHNguard® S PV SCI for single pole protection addresses the issues associated with PV systems by incorporating a switched fused circuit in parallel to the MOV discharge circuit, permitting the SPD to be safely (arc free) disconnected from the system when necessary.
The earlier product range is available for system voltages of 150, 600, 1,000, and 1,200 VDC for the YPV and 150 and 600 for the single pole version. Both versions are designed for DIN rail mounting. These SPDs are UL 1449 3rd edition compliant for PV DC systems.
DEHN has also introduced a new Printed Circuit Board mounting base where the most configurations can be built on a PCB.
