'Delta Green Building Exhibition', from Paris to Beijing
SHANGHAI, June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, will present its 22 green buildings in the "Delta Green Building Exhibition" scheduled between June 14-26 in Building A at the Academy of Arts and Design in Tsinghua University in Beijing.
The exhibition, first launched in Paris last year during the COP21 United Nations Climate Change Conference in response to the CDP's "Commit to Action" initiative, demonstrates Delta's commitment to corporate carbon reduction by sharing experiences in design concepts and technologies of green building in accommodation of climate change, calling for joint action from all parties involved for energy savings and carbon reduction following the signing of the Paris Agreement.
The exhibition will showcases Delta's achievement in carbon reduction in the past decade, allowing viewers to understand in a vivid manner the importance of energy savings in buildings for climate change. In the past 10 years, Delta has created a number of green buildings, contributing to the energy savings.
As of today, Delta has constructed, donated or helped build 22 green buildings around the world. They include four winning projects from the International Solar Building Design Competition sponsored by Delta Environmental & Educational Foundation that has been held five times in the past 10 years.
Delta's Tainan Plant1 which is the first gold-level (later upgraded to diamond level) building that has met the 9 green architecture indexes of EEWH, and its new Americas headquarters in Fremont are expected to become the first net zero energy buildings in the northern California city.
From Paris to Beijing, more than 177 countries have signed the Paris Agreement, jointly committing to energy savings and carbon reduction. To advance the ecological culture and build a beautiful country, Mainland China has raised green building to the level of national development strategy and aligned policies and regulations accordingly to promote urban initiatives in the combat against the climate change. The "National New-type Urbanization Plan 2014-2020" also indicates that the ratio of green building in proportion to newly constructed buildings will be increased to 50% in 2020 from 2% in 2012.

The exhibition, jointly held by the Delta Environmental & Educational Foundation, Special Committee of Solar Buildings, CRES (China Renewable Energy Society), and supported by Tsinghua University Education Foundation and Delta Group, will be opened to the public 09:00-18:00 from June 14-26 (09:00-12:00 only on June 26).
