Denise Wilkerson announces run for 1st Ward council seat in Roselle, NJ

Denise boasts over 20 years of experience in the PR industry. She was the former Director of Ecommerce at PR Newswire and recently left that company to run her own PR firm, Robert Scott PR. Her organization's mission is to provide and execute customized brand-building strategies that increase brand awareness, product recognition & revenue for small businesses. She also runs a free Entrepreneur Meet-up in Roselle that provides support and training for entrepreneurs around northern New Jersey. "My mom was an entrepreneur and I know firsthand how small businesses can be a pillar of the community. So, supporting local entrepreneurs is a critical component of moving communities forward," says Denise Wilkerson

As the CEO and Founder of Abounding Women Community Outreach, Inc., Denise has made it her life's mission to help women live their best lives. Abounding Women Community Outreach Inc. mission is to inspire & empower women to excel both personally and professionally, by helping them remove self-doubt and build self-confidence through its women's empowerment conferences. The organization also provides women with professional skills training and gives women a platform to serve their community.

Denise Wilkerson is a long-standing community advocate. She currently serves on the Roselle Planning Board. She Is the 3^rd Vice President of the National Council of Negro Women Roselle Chapter. Denise is also the Corresponding Secretary of the NAACP Roselle Area Branch. Her organization, Abounding Women Community Outreach, Inc. hosts an annual Family Fun Day in Roselle, which is designed to support Roselle families and unify the community. While the event was full of food, fun, and games, the most important part of the event is the information and resources that are provided to community members and the renewed sense of community everyone leaves with. Denise is also a sought after motivational speaker, event host, and certified mentor.

"In January, my organization chartered a bus to the Women's March in Washington DC. We were able to take 56 women to DC. It was an amazing experience! After the March, I knew it was my responsibility to do more for my community and the women's movement. That is why I decided to run. I am not a politician. I am a mother, a business owner, and community advocate. I have funded my own campaign & will not be beholden to any political faction. I am here solely to represent the residents of the 1^st Ward as its council women," says Denise Wilkerson.
