DEP Reaffirms Full Readiness in Organizing TILOG 2011
Leading Logistics Entrepreneurs get ready to contribute to making Thailand the Logistics Hub of ASEAN
BANGKOK, Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Department of Export Promotion (DEP) announced its intention to host the Thailand International Logistics Fair 2011 or TILOG 2011. This event is regarded as an extraordinary opportunity for Thai Logistics Entrepreneurs to engage in direct business transactions. This is the time and place to build International Business Networks with potential partners and customers. Thailand will showcase its outstanding logistics capabilities as it prepares to become the leading logistics hub in the Southeast Asian Region.
Mrs. Nantawan Sakuntanaga, DEP Director-General, states that, "The DEP, together with the Thai National Shippers' Council (TNSC) and the Hazardous Substances Logistics Association (HSLA), has taken proactive steps to move ahead with organizing TILOG 2011."
The "ASEAN Plus Logistics Network" will serve to:
- Act as an important platform for Thai Entrepreneurs seeking new business partners
- Reduce the costs of operations while increasing profits
- Provide center stage for Thailand to demonstrate its readiness and capability to emerge as the leading trade and logistics hub in ASEAN
- Provide proof and substance of Thailand's ability to live up to surging business expectations as the ASEAN Economic Community (AIC) becomes fully implemented in 2015
As noted by Mrs. Nantawan, "Logistics is becoming increasingly important both in the government and private sectors because it is an effective tool in saving operating costs as well as increasing competitiveness for virtually all industries. TILOG 2011 has now been confirmed to feature over 200 Leading Logistics Operators in over 400 booths. There will be approximately 150 Thai and 50 Foreign Operators. The event will also give participating Thai Logistics Entrepreneurs a chance to exchange their knowledge and experience as well as build business networks among themselves and with foreign counterparts."
