POWER HOUR
At Porter House in New York, Karine Ohana is hosting the "Power Hour" Luncheon, which focuses on businesses and organizations who are contributing to the empowerment of women and girls and the wellbeing of children on a global basis. The event is co-hosted by Kara Ross and Susan Rockefeller. Special guests include Simone Levinson, a philanthropic entrepreneur and founding investor of Juice Press; David and Zachary Batstone, founders of Not for Sale and Z Shoes; Scott and Missy Tannen, founders of Boll & Branch; Holstein Solheim, CEO of Ben & Jerry's and Francine LeFrak, founder of Same Sky.

In the evening, Samsung will power the DIAMONDS UNLEASHED and Girl Up "Girl Talk" event, which will be held at Samsung 837, a first-of-its kind cultural destination, digital playground and Marketing Center of Excellence, in the heart of the Meatpacking District of New York City. The conversation will focus on the importance of supporting girls and women around the world. The event will be followed by an opportunity for the attendees to network with one another and make meaningful connections.
Evening Schedule
6:15pm: Opening Remarks by Ann Woo, Director of Corporate Citizenship for Samsung Electronics in North America. Ms. Woo will speak on the importance of celebrating International Women's Day and supporting the next generation of female leaders and SAMSUNG's efforts to support women and girls through their Corporate Social Responsibility program.
6:30pm: Kara Ross, founder of DIAMONDS UNLEASHED will speak about the new partnership for 2017 with Girl Up as well as other initiatives for 2017 to educate, empower and employ girls and women around the world.
6:40pm: Anna Blue, Deputy Director of GIRL UP will speak about the origin and history of International Women's Day and Girl Up. Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation's adolescent girl campaign, engages girls to take action. Led by a community of nearly half a million passionate advocates raising awareness and funds, Girl Up's efforts help the hardest to reach girls living in places where it is hardest to be a girl.
