Dice Launches 'The Best Interview Ever' Contest
Grand prize: $25,000 and an all expense paid trip to New York City for face-to-face meetings with tech companies
NEW YORK, Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dice, the leading career site for technology and engineering professionals, launched "The Best Interview Ever" contest with a grand prize of $25,000 and a chance for informational meetings in New York City with notable technology companies.
Tech professionals will visit the contest site www.dice.com/contest and select one from a choice of three tech-related interview questions to answer. Interview questions will be devised by tech hiring managers at Buzzfeed, Tumblr and by Veronica Belmont, host of Tekzilla and Dice's Best Job Ever series. Contestants can make use of text or video to post their answers to the interview questions and have the opportunity to promote their entries via social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, and garner 'votes' for fan favorites (popularity standings will not be a factor in determining the winner).
"Job offers go to technology professionals that connect in interviews," said Tom Silver, SVP, North America of Dice. "The contest will allow technology professionals to sharpen their interviewing skills by watching how other individuals creatively handle the interview questions."
The semi-finalists and grand prize winner will be selected by an expert panel. Semi-finalists will be selected on February 17th and the grand prize winner will be chosen on February 24th. The grand prize winner will receive $25,000 in cash, an all expense paid trip to New York City and face-to-face meetings with tech companies, such as Buzzfeed and Tumblr. The six semi-finalists will each win an XBOX Kinect bundle.
Final entries are due January 31, 2011. Contest rules can be viewed at http://contest.bestjobsever.net/pages/rules. Please note: Dice does not promise or guarantee any offer of employment related to the contest.
