WARRINGTON, Pa., Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sokolis Group www.sokolisgroup.com -- As diesel fuel prices have recently increased, most transportation companies have concerns. Transport Topics recently released two prominent lists for trucking in fleet management; 2013 Top 100 For-Hire and Top 100 Private Carriers.

On those lists for 2013, along with the same lists for 2012, 10 companies outsourced fuel management to Sokolis Group. Vitran Express is a new Sokolis Group client on the list and their Executive Vice President, Frank Hurst stated, "Outsourcing fuel management to Sokolis Group has improved our position to how we buy diesel fuel and our overall fuel management. We are very happy with our relationship with the Sokolis Group. The transition and on-boarding process was extremely smooth, and we now have better visibility to costs and trends associated with our fuel spend. The Sokolis Group's industry specific knowledge and experience supported us in implementing sustainable processes to efficiently manage diesel fuel at Vitran Express."
Other Sokolis Group clients have said they tried strategic sourcing themselves but found it to be very difficult. With all of the moving components of daily diesel fuel pricing, fuel cards and fleet fuel taxes, it required a team of fleet fueling experts to handle their fuel management. Otherwise, it would have put a significant burden on their fleet manager who has other things to be concerned with.
Michael Seekins Vice President of Transportation, PERFORMANCE Foodservice stated, "With diesel fuel being one of our largest single expense lines, by outsourcing our fuel management to experts, we expect to gain greater visibility into our fuel purchases and tighter management of our fuel contracts and suppliers. Sokolis Group brings a level of expertise that would be a challenge to duplicate within our organization."
Sokolis Group, President Glen Sokolis said, "I believe we have been successful because we have hired and trained extremely qualified professionals that understand nothing is more important than the client. As we celebrate 10 years in business this year, fuel management has become even more important than ever for many companies. Clients can be confident Sokolis Group will get the answers they need. Especially during these times when fuel audits, validation and reconciliation are such a big key for companies that need to be sure they got what they paid for."
Sokolis went on to say, "You're not just getting a company that has been in business for 10 years, you are getting over 120 collective years of diesel fueling experience from our staff of experts with OPIS data and fuel tax information. They prove their value every day."
