ATLANTA, July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Atlanta 2012, the Southeast's premier social media and interactive conference, is open for business. Now in its third year, the event will take place October 8-12 at Atlantic Station in midtown Atlanta and offer a full range of interactive programming. More than 5,000 digital enthusiasts at all levels, including executives, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, civic and non-profit leaders will participate in educational workshops, product demonstrations and networking opportunities. The conference will also cover developments in entertainment, UX design, education, politics and mobile media. In order to keep all events free for attendees, Digital Atlanta is looking for sponsors to help cover the costs associated with the event.

In response to 2011 attendee feedback, Atlantic Station will now serve as the primary venue for all workshops and events, making the logistics of getting from one event to the next easier for conference goers. "The beauty of social media is that it is honest, transparent and offers feedback in real-time," said Bert DuMars, Digital Atlanta founder and vice president of e-Business & interactive marketing, Newell Rubbermaid. "We are pleased to have Atlantic Station's support and gladly serve as a case study for how powerful social media can be."
"Partnering with Digital Atlanta was a natural fit for Atlantic Station, because social media is one of our primary tools for engaging with customers," said Liz Gillespie, director of marketing for Atlantic Station. "We are ready to welcome Atlanta's digital influencers to Atlantic Station and look forward to hosting the best Digital Atlanta yet."
This year, the volunteer-driven organization is also on a mission to establish Atlanta as the hub for innovation in the digital space. Regarded as one of the nation's most socially-networked cities, Atlanta serves as home to thousands of independently-owned interactive companies, agencies and popular digital start-ups such as ScoutMob, MailChimp and Vitrue, among others.
"We are grateful for the aid of partners and sponsors, like Atlantic Station, which helps us continue to educate entrepreneurs and connect them with digital thought leaders from around the world," DuMars added. "The entire business community benefits from digital innovation and we believe Atlanta is ripe for mobilizing small and independently-owned businesses."
A full schedule and keynote presentations will be announced at the end of August.
