Digital Brand Expressions Launches Revolutionary Enterprise Social Media Program
New, cohesive five-phase program is the first to help companies leverage popular social media sites for all business units
KINGSTON, N.J., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- While a recent Social Media Today study shows that only 41.9 percent of responding companies have a corporate social media policy in place, the social media landscape continues to grow rapidly, opening up risks for those that don't. Digital Brand Expressions (DBE), a highly regarded findability marketing firm, announced today the availability of its new Enterprise Social Media Program, making DBE the first to provide an offering that addresses the social media implementation needs of the entire business – from customer service to marketing and sales, to individual employee usage of social media.
Using a five-phase process, DBE guides companies through their social media adoption efforts from the initial brand protection and competitive research stages, through policy and guideline implementation. DBE partners with specialized law firms to ensure that its Enterprise Social Media clients are in compliance with all regulatory areas specific to their business and social media best practices from a legal perspective.
"Digital Brand Expressions started working in the social media space as part of the findability marketing solutions we provide our clients. It quickly became apparent that social media is high on the radar of other business areas, and our clients asked for our guidance on ways to use popular social media outposts like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as hiring, business development and customer service tools as well," said Veronica Fielding, president of DBE. "Our team adapted the process we created to plan and implement social media marketing strategies – creating an all-inclusive solution that guides the business as a whole through the adoption process in a strategic and cohesive way."
Research has shown that, while the majority of U.S. companies are now participating in the social media landscape, efforts are largely scattered. For example, Business.com's Social Media Benchmarking 2009 survey showed that the average responding company was planning, developing or running seven different social media initiatives, with a quarter planning, developing or running 10 or more initiatives. The same study showed that while 70 percent of respondents were using social media for marketing purposes, only 31 percent were using it as a hiring tool.
"In the current social media environment, it's critical that companies pull together the activities of various departments under a consistent and brand-aligned social media strategy," said Mike Gotta, principal analyst for Burton Group. "Companies using a calculated company-wide approach are better positioned to mitigate social media risks and less prone to incur the types of embarrassing miscues that can accompany less coordinated efforts."
