NEW YORK, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Coming off a series of blue chip client wins, breakthrough work and valued leadership in the communications industry, public relations agency Ruder Finn has made a key hire in the area of communications and online strategy by naming Katy Kelley Vice President.

Katy will work to grow Ruder Finn's strategic presence and thought-leadership across channels including public relations, internal communications and social media outreach. The position was newly created to further extend Ruder Finn's reach as a cutting edge leader in public relations, as well as bringing an online voice through various digital content.

"Katy brings significant digital communications experience as well as a bright personality, enabling Ruder Finn to merge the influence network of traditional media with the reach of integrated online campaigns," says Kathy Bloomgarden, CEO.  "She can help elevate our core competencies to new levels, helping us develop programs that connect with our clients – and their customers – in new ways, in this web-connected world."

Ruder Finn's recent accomplishments have included winning and executing a host of integrated, cross-channel communications campaigns for leading companies including PepsiCo,  Audi, Novartis, L'Oreal and IEEE.  Their Webby Award winning digital shop RFI Studios brings a full service digital arm to their already well-established public relations practices, furthering the understanding that digital, marketing, consumer insight and public relations can no longer live in separate silos of speciality.

"I look forward to being a part of the Ruder Finn team and helping the agency increase its presence and recognition," added Katy. "Ruder Finn has an amazing combination of assets underscored by a strategic understanding that the convergence of digital and traditional media is not just an idea, but a reality that has redefined the way today's leading companies need to communicate."

Katy was most recently VP of Communications at Carrot Creative, where she handled the social media agency's internal and external communications, raising the company's visibility by more than 200% with features in the Wall Street Journal, Mashable, The New York Times and conferences worldwide.  Before joining Carrot Creative, Katy was Communications Manager at HUGE. She is a highly sought after panelist for industry events, has taught PR 2.0 classes at NYU Stern Business School and was recently featured as a "Top Person to Follow on Twitter" by PRWeek.
