NEW YORK, April 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Makeable -- a leading independent product, business and brand innovation company in New York – announced today the acquisition of boutique technology company ShiftEight. The announcement was made by Makeable founding partners Michael Kantrow and Tom Ajello.
The acquisition of ShiftEight brings additional creative technology and development scale to Makeable's growing business -- including eCommerce, mobile and digital product design and development expertise -- and adds senior talent to the company's existing creative technology team. As part of the acquisition, Todd Lynch, founder of ShiftEight, assumes the role of Technology Director at Makeable to lead the combined development team and staff across the company.
Founded in 2001, ShiftEight is a multi-platform technology development company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge, scalable solutions for clients and agencies alike. As President and Lead Software Engineer for the company, Todd and his team have worked with a variety of large-scale and entrepreneurial clients, including Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Kraft Foods, Deloitte, Walmart, Microsoft, Progressive, IMG, Yahoo!, Art Remba, and the Association of Writers & Writing Programs.
"The addition of ShiftEight to the Makeable team adds proven creative technology and development talent to help meet our growing business needs," said Kantrow. "Makeable is known for an incredibly unique and vibrant culture of engineer-to-client agile teams focused on product design, innovation and technology rigor, and Todd and his team fit right into our model."
"As I've always said, our primary motivation is quality, and bringing on Todd and his incredibly adept team is a testament to that strategy. Having worked with Todd and ShiftEight on a variety of projects over the years, we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome them into Makeable," added Ajello.
"After 13 years of running my own company, working with all kinds of clients and every type of creative agency in New York and beyond, it's exciting to become part of a unified team of likeminded talent focused on delivering makeable innovation. I'm particularly enthusiastic about their approach to the internet of things and the physical web projects they're engaged in. The breadth of work and cutting-edge projects will keep things incredibly interesting for all of us on the creative technology side of the business," said Lynch.
