Starts New Digital Engagement Division, BabyRobot
TORONTO, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Allard Johnson, a member of the MDC Partners network, announced today that digital thought leader, Cameron Wykes, has joined the agency to start a new digital division which will be named, BabyRobot (www.Baby-Robot.com). This newly created digital offering will provide digital leadership from digital strategy, design and development, through execution. BabyRobot will also focus on digital engagement services, which covers everything from mobile application development, augmented reality, digital point of sale, interactive digital display and experiential marketing.
For the past decade, Cameron has successfully created and built multiple digital marketing companies, most recently at Zig, also a member of the MDC Partners network, which have all merged or been purchased by traditional advertising agencies. He brings both agency and client-side experience, as CD of Interactive at DDB and CD of Sympatico.ca, Canada's largest web portal. Cameron also successfully founded and built two digital agencies - Mighty, which was sold to Bensimon Byrne in 2004, and PUSH, which was merged into Zig in the Fall of 2008.
Cameron's understanding of the online space, its audience, and its unique culture, allows his clients to better understand their target and how they behave online, helping turn perception into participation. Cameron's work has been recognized at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, the Cassies, the Webbies, and as one of the Worldwide Top Sites of 2007 at TheFWA.com. Cameron was also awarded Best of Show at the Digital Marketing Awards, for his creative and strategic leadership on the successful anti-tobacco campaign, Stupid.ca. Over his 17+ years in the communications industry, Cameron has worked with an impressive list of clients, including Bell Canada, Virgin Mobile, Rogers Canada, CBC, The Globe and Mail, CanWest, The Ministry of Health Promotion, The Ministry of Education, Hyundai, VW, Honda, Panasonic, Toshiba, Best Buy, Microsoft Canada, HMV, Warner Music, House of Blues, Swiss Chalet, Hershey's, CAMH, Wyeth and Pfizer.
"This is an amazing opportunity to create a digital company of the future," said Cam Wykes. "Our belief is that clients can no longer rely on flat destination web sites. Digital engagement services essentially reach beyond the web, offering brand engagement experiences that are more relevant to the consumer. It is our belief that this location based experience will replace what we say today."
"Cam is a genius in the digital space," Said Terry Johnson, CEO of Allard Johnson. "The chance to partner with him and further build our digital capabilities into a world class digital offering is extremely exciting to us. We can now provide our clients with cutting edge digital intelligence of the highest caliber. We are thrilled to have Cam as an integral part of our agency and a key component in our aggressive growth plans for the future."
