Discount Fee Scheme "Flat-rate Plan" Now Available for Unlimited Access to "Developers AppKitBox-Remote TestKit" for Easier Smartphone App and Website Verification

TOKYO, Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- NTT Resonant Inc. announced on November 7 a new monthly fee plan for unlimited access (Flat-rate Plan) to the "Developers AppKitBox-Remote TestKit." The "Remote TestKit" is a cloud-based service allowing smartphone app and website developers to remotely verify their designs and functions on real smartphones made available on a time-shared basis. In addition, the company will add to the existing Ticket Plan fee schedule cut-rate Annual and Monthly Plans. Moreover, NTT Resonant will also enhance the service by adding new functions such as Auto Capture and GPS Setting, making it easier to use.

In addition, as part of its effort to strengthen its business in the U.S. market, NTT Resonant will showcase the "Remote TestKit" in the November 14-15 part of AnDevCon San Francisco opening on November 12 (local time). Visitors to the company's booth will be able to see for themselves the world's fastest real-time screen transfer speed as well as the verification process running on real smartphones instead of an emulator. Visitors having completed a questionnaire will be given a ticket for 10-hour free access to the "Remote TestKit."

1. About expanded fee schedule

NTT Resonant will newly offer the Flat-rate Plan, a fixed-amount monthly fee plan for unlimited access. Besides, it will add the Annual and Monthly Plans, both pay-as-you-go discount fee plans made available upon purchasing tickets for the period of time needed. The new fee schedule will allow users to choose from a variety of fee plans.

Additional fee plans

(1) Flat-rate Plan

The Flat-rate Plan allows users to utilize rental smartphones for an unlimited amount of time. As the monthly fee is a fixed amount, users will be able to test a smartphone for a whole day without caring about the sum of payment and without paying much attention to the number of tickets left unused. Users have a choice to rent one, three or five smartphones.

*Users can utilize the same device for a maximum period of four consecutive hours. After an hour of interval following the return of a smartphone, it can be used again.

(2) Annual Plan (Ticket Plan)

With an annual service ticket payable in a lump sum, the Annual Plan offers a cut-rate service 15% cheaper than buying regular tickets for a year.

*Annual Plan tickets are put on sale on the first day of every month at 0:00 a.m. (Japan time). The ticket will be valid for 90 days following the issue date.

(3) Monthly Plan (Ticket Plan)

The Monthly Plan offers service for a fee 10% cheaper than regular tickets. Both Annual and Monthly Plans are to be introduced in response to user requests for more convenient ticket purchases. The new plans will save paperwork associated with ticket purchases.

*The minimum period of use is three months per ticket. As the first month is free of charge, the remaining two months will have to be paid for in each purchase.
*Monthly Plan tickets are put on sale on the first day of every month at 0:00 a.m. (Japan time). The ticket will be valid for 90 days following the issue date.

2. About additional functions

NTT Resonant added two new functions as below which had been strongly called for by users.

(1) Auto Capture function

The screens of plural designated URLs will be automatically captured and saved. In testing apps on two or more handsets, the user may input one URL and then the Remote TestKit software automatically conducts tests on all rental handsets, saving captured screens.

(2) GPS Setting function

Users can verify the GPS-related function of their app by typing in latitude and longitude. Smartphones often are capable of offering location information as well as services making use of such information. If latitude and longitude information is entered, app tests can be conducted as if handsets were being used in the specified place.

3. How to use our service

Visit the "Developers AppKitBox" website, download the Remote TestKit software, select one of smartphones on the list and start the software. Developers will be able to verify their app's operation and design while watching instantaneous, high-speed and smooth data transfer on the screen of a connected PC.
