Discount Park and Ride Paves Way for Entrepreneurial Students with Scholarship

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Typically, a business operation won't turn a profit for three to five years. With the Paving The Future Scholarship from Discount Park and Ride, a great business proposal can earn one entrepreneurial student $2,500 to educate and empower them to bring their idea to life.

Only students with the enthusiasm and ingenuity necessary to launch their business plan and clearly communicate their thoughts need apply. They will be required to submit a business proposal that includes the following: a description of the company, an overview of the competition, a customer acquisition plan, a description of fund allocations and an overall business model.

A logo or company name is also required, as well as the name(s) of the founder or co-founders. When the 700 word minimum is met and all the segments addressed, students have until June 15, 2015, to submit a PDF of their proposal to [email protected] with their name, address, phone number and college.

But that's not all -- the top 5% of these submissions will be selected to create a video that showcases their idea, presented as if it were being shown to a room full of venture capitalists. From these videos, the student with the best idea and most entrepreneurial spirit will be awarded the Paving The Future Scholarship.

The idea behind this scholarship, according to Alex Miningham, President and Founder of Discount Park and Ride, is "to help promote entrepreneurship across the country and make it easier for budding entrepreneurs to get their ideas off the ground." For students with innovative business ideas, the Paving The Future Scholarship contest is a great way to to get started.

This contest is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia. There is no purchase or payment required to enter or win this contest. Purchases will not increase a student's chance of winning.
